'FISH
FOREVER' CAMPAIGN AT FALMOUTH OYSTER FESTIVAL
October 2003
The Falmouth Oyster Festival 16-19 October
will this year be featuring a fish promotion as part of its
attractions. The campaign to promote fish in Cornwall called ‘Fish
Forever’ is funded by an Objective One grant
and supported by the company Seafish.
This follows hot on the heals of successes at the Royal Cornwall
Show, Newlyn Fish Festival and the Newquay Fish Festival held
earlier this month.
Cookery demonstrations by local chefs, a wet fish display showing
the diverse range of species caught off the coast of Cornwall, and
an on-site wet fish shop are just some of the ideas being planned.
It is hoped that local suppliers and the people of Falmouth will get
behind the fishing industry and learn more about the fantastic range
of fish landed in Cornwall.
An impressive cast of starring chefs from local restaurants and
hotels will demonstrate 12 dishes over the four-day event and it is
hoped that many more people will be encouraged and inspired to eat
more fish!
