23 fishermen have stripped off to support the Duchy Fish Quota Company in their fundraising bid to raise money to buy fish quota and support Cornish fishermen. The 2004 calendar "The Return of the Naked Fishermen" is now on sale and is a great Christmas present for anyone with a saucy sense of humour.

Duchy Fish Quota Company fundraiser Fiona Osman said "this year we have printed the calendar in full colour and asked fishermen from around the county to participate so there is a good spread of fishermen and local landmarks from around the coast of Cornwall. They all have their modesty protected by some locally caught fish and we hope to raise a lot of interest and money from the sale of the calendar for a serious objective: to support the Cornish fishing industry and keep Cornwall fishing".

The Cornish Fleet has access to some of the UK’s cleanest waters and diverse fishing grounds, with over sixty species of fish available. The company is raising funds to buy fish quota and lease it to Cornish fishermen, providing the opportunity to build a sustainable fishery and ensure the future of fishing communities for generations to come. Without fish quota, local fishermen will not be able to catch certain species of fish like Cod, Pollack, Hake, Mackerel, Monkfish and Megrim.

The Duchy Fish Quota Company has just purchased their first package of fish quota. This will act as a landmark in reversing the trend of quota decline in Cornwall. By raising more money to buy more fish quota the Duchy Fish Quota Company will enable more Cornish vessels to land more fish in Cornwall.
